Alloy may be out of sight, but it is definitely not out of mind
About this time last year, Uri Heilik and Rogelio Herrera stood beside 42nd Avenue S.E., watching semi-trailers pull into the Safeway warehouse across the road. Looking left, they saw loads of lumber heading out of Timber Town. Looking right, they could see vehicles buzzing by on Macleod Trail a couple of blocks away. And amid the drone of traffic, they could hear the ping of bells ringing from the 39th Avenue C-Train station a few metres to the north.
They surveyed their surroundings, took a deep breath and proceeded to empty their life savings into the structure behind them.
